Job Description:

We are hiring innovative and effective certified Elementary Teachers for the 2024/2025 school year.

  • Would you like to join a team of like-minded people who love doing work that matters?
  • Do you have the heart of a teacher?
  • Do you thrive in a collaborative and team environment?
  • This could be the position and school for you!

About Camelback Academy:

  • We value our work. We are well aware that what we do on a daily basis affects our students and their families. When our students enter our classrooms, a relationship begins, enriching their present lives and shaping their future. This is work that matters.
  • We value work-life balance and family. We work with focus and passion during the day so when it's time to go home, work stays at work and you go home. We want you to have enough energy and time to give your family the best of you, not the rest of you.
  • We value our work-place culture. We believe in order to have a trusting, dynamic, and winning team, the team members must be humble, hungry, & people-smart. We collaborate, working closely and respectfully with our colleagues.
  • We value fun. We celebrate seasons, school spirit, excellent effort, and positive character. We look for reasons to have fun with our students and our team!
  • Camelback Academy has had the privilege of providing a character-based, quality education in our community since 2002. We are team members, professionals, life-long learners, and community members who believe in the power of unity and doing whatever it takes to meet the diverse needs of our students.

About our LEAD 3-dimensional instructional model:

  • CLUSTERS - Grade levels are broken down into clusters, k-2 clusters and 3-5 clusters. Within the cluster, there are 3 teachers who are responsible for the core subject areas; a reading teacher, a math teacher, and a writing teacher. Science and Social Studies are integrated throughout the core subject areas. The teachers instruct students in one content area in grades K-2 and 3-5. The classrooms are not combination classes; they work with specific grade levels separately. The students are in the classrooms for a 90-minute block each day.
  • THE LOOP - The clusters work with the same students for 3 years.
  • LEARNING STATIONS - after a new concept or unit is introduced through direct instruction, students work independently at three types of learning stations in their classroom. Each classroom has a Computer Station for technology-based work, a Textbook Station for paper/pencil work, and three Activity Stations for hands-on work. There is also a Teacher Station where teachers can pull students for small group tutorials and individual assistance.

Teachers love LEAD because they become subject area specialists and find by focusing on a specific content area, they are able to help their students reach their educational goals in a more efficient manner. We provide annual training for new teachers and on-site coaching, training and professional development throughout the year for all K-5 staff.
