Administrative Job Description
 
ASSOCIATE SUPERINTENDENT
 Exempt
12 Months
Salary:  Based on Experience (BOE)
 
Definition: The Associate Superintendent serves as support to the Superintendent and individual schools by supervising the district’s operational functions, including but not limited to human resources, policy and procedure, legal matters, and the day-to-day management of district operations.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Possesses a master’s degree in education, Education Administration, or closely related field.
  • Served as a principal or similar school-level administrative position for five (5) years or prior Assistant/Associate Superintendent or Superintendent experience.
  • Holds a valid Arizona Administrative Certification (Standard Professional Superintendent, PreK-12, and Standard Professional Principal, PreK-12) from the Arizona State Department of Education.

Preferred Qualifications:
Possesses deep knowledge of and experience with all functions of a PreK-12 public school district.
Has formal training in education and administration policies and procedures.
Demonstrates a knowledge of personnel and employment laws and regulations.
Experience in grant writing.
