The New Foundation is a growing not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for youth, ages 11 to 17, and their families by providing therapeutic behavioral health and education programs. Since 1970, The New Foundation has been helping youth and families live healthier, more successful lives by creating “a new foundation” for growth and recovery, utilizing a strength based, positive approach. Education services are provided year round for children ages 11 -17. The School at The New Foundation is seeking a Math Teacher or Special Education Teacher with an emphasis in ED/LD or Cross Categorical to teach High School Math. The person must be able to do the following; • Demonstrate knowledge/ability to plan, develop and revise classroom curriculum to meet the physical, emotional, creative and educational needs of the students within the guidelines of the organization’s philosophy, and policies and procedures. • Effectively instruct students, provide structure and respond to behavior in a therapeutic manner. • Possess a broad knowledge of special education and be able to transfer this knowledge into program activities and develop strategies to meet the needs of students. • Design effective instructional lessons with measurable and clear objectives that are aligned to standards, deliver quality instruction to students utilizing best practices, manage and model expectations of student behavior, use a variety of methods and techniques to engage students in learning, and meet the diverse needs of an alternative student population. Requirements • Valid Arizona teaching certification, qualified to teach Mathematics. • Understand the mandated requirements to ensure organization/school compliance with Arizona Department of Education. • Must be organized and detail oriented, able to maintain confidentiality, have good communication skills (written and verbal), and good computer skills. • The person must be able to take charge, exhibit good decision making skills and be innovative. • Possess or be able to obtain Fingerprint clearance through the Department of Public Safety. • Willing to work with all members of the school and treatment team. • Reliable • Pass drug screen • Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of cultural issues and be respectful of differences Salary is dependent upon experience and credentials.
