As the School Health Assistant, you will help to maintain a well-organized, safe and smoothly functioning health office for all students and staff. Under direction of the school CNA, the health assistant provides basic health needs of students and other
employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administers medications under the direct supervision of the school CNA and in accordance with applicable District
policies and applicable State laws and regulations.

Administers and assists with basic first aid following the assessment of injured students and/or staff.
Performs a variety of clerical duties, which may include: inputting information into database; running report
queries; making copies; creating labels; filing medical records; preparing routine correspondence; and/or,
performing other related activities
Cleans and sanitizes health center facilities to minimize viral and bacterial illnesses from spreading within the
school community.
Phones parents to notify them of or inquire about student illnesses or other related information.
Assists in administering mandated screenings for vision and hearing in accordance with applicable policies.

Provides emergency personnel with critical data and information within established guidelines and procedures.
Assists in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels within the health center.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
