Job Description:
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, administration or related area, experience working with Education Projects.
2. Demonstrated experience working with Parents, Students and Community.
3. Experience or demonstrated aptitude for planning and budgeting project proposals, clear writing and documentation of project activities.
4. The ability to work with computer programs.
5. Bilingual Navajo/English
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
7. A valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint card.

EMPLOYMENT:
SALARY: Salary is to be determined by district pay scale and Board
POSITION GOAL: The duties and responsibilities of Federal Programs Director shall be those duties incident to the Coordinator as set forth in the job description, Board Policies, State and Federal laws, this contract, for the funded programs: JOM, Title IX, Consolidated Programs and other Federal grants.
DUTIES AND 1. Assumes final responsibility for the writing of assigned proposals
RESPONSIBILITIES: and filing of all applications, documentation, and reports required for the smooth operation of the assigned programs in the district.
2. Assist the supervisor and the professional staff in planning the wise utilization of funds available to the schools through the Federal Programs Department.
3. Prepares an annual report summarizing the evaluations of Federal funded programs, newly completed programs, progress of those underway, and the import of those being planned.
4. Compiles and maintains written records and reports on results of Federal Programs and disseminates this information, as appropriate, to other educational institutions, lay groups, the Navajo Nation, the State Department of Education, and U.S. Office of Education.
5. Assists in the preparation of Federal Programs budgets for business office use.
6. Works with designated committees of teachers and principals, in specific programs, projects, or courses of action.
7. Obtains information, data, and application forms necessary to fulfill the requirements of application.
8. Considers and evaluates all requests from school personnel projects and programs requiring Federal Program funds.
9. Establishes standard practices and procedures for receiving and processing program requests.
10. Conducts in-service education workshops in the interpretation of specifications for Federal Program funding.
11. Monitors and evaluates Federal Program funded projects in operation in the district on a regular basis. Provides report as necessary.
12. Serves as liaison between the school and other agencies on all projects of a joint community nature that are expected to involve the school and that can be IE funded.
13. Studies legislation, projects, and programs for the possibilities and opportunities they offer for educational grants, entitlements, and allocations offered relevant to the needs of the district.
14. Remains up to date on the changing laws and requirements regarding Federal Program funds available to the schools.
15. Plans and coordinates activities for the JOM IEC meetings.
16. Works closely with parent committees in the coordination of programs.
17. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Educational Support Services Director.
