All new teachers have a mentor-teacher for their first 2 years of employment with SUSD30.
100+ Professional Development courses are offered for all staff including improving/strengthening a wide variety of classroom management skills, as well as topics including teacher well-being and avoiding burnout.

CONTRACT TERMS: 10-month
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides a comprehensive guidance and counseling program for students and meets the special needs of his/her assigned caseload. Counselors consult with teachers, staff and parents to enhance their effectiveness in supporting the educational pursuits of all students in regard to career, personal and social development. Provides support to other high school educational programs.

A. TIME MANAGEMENT: Must plan two to twelve weeks in advance;
B. STRESS MANAGEMENT: Must meet occasional deadlines;
C. PUBLIC CONTACT: Interacts primarily with students, parents and staff;
D. LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY: Must use sound judgment in performing
job responsibilities
EVALUATION PROCEDURE: In accordance with provisions specified in Governing Board policy;
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Site Principal
