Job Description:

Arizona’s first and only autism-focused charter school is expanding and seeking an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR)  to assess, diagnose, treat, and help students with sensory processing disorders, fine motor delay and visual perception concerns in the new state of the art autism center. We are currently looking for someone to provide services to our High School Campus in Tucson for 2 days per week.

The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for:

  • Assessment and  Implement student's occupational therapy needs
  •  Supervision of COTA staff
  • Engage in data-driven instruction
  • Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies

Duties: 

  •  Assess students to identify eligibility and IEP needs
  • supervise, mentor and support COTA 
    • train COTAs and classroom staff to implement goals identified on student IEPs related to:
      • fine motor skills
      • life skills/training
      • psychosocial adaptations
      • sensory processing/adaptations
      • visual motor skills
  •  Follow school-wide systems, rules and positive behavior interventions
  •  Support the delivery of services in a classroom integration model
  •  Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families
  •  Responsible for paperwork compliance with data collections relating to IEP goals
  •  Accountability for growth and proficiency on IEP goals
  •  Participate in annual and ongoing staff training
  • Write OT goals and progress monitoring data for students IEPs
  • Attend IEP/MET meetings for students with OT services

Other:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering services in a school setting in a classroom integration model preferred
  •  Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance
  •  Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
  •  Minimum of two years OTR experience in a school setting preferred
  •  Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) preferred
  •  Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card

Required:

  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance card
  • Bachelor's Master’s Degree or higher
  • Certified OTR in the state of Arizona
