Job Description:
Job Summary: St. Johns High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality math instruction to students, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, and supporting students' academic growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Arizona teaching certification in Secondary Education (or actively working toward obtaining one).
- Current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required).
- Math teaching experience (preferred).
- Willing to teach dual-enrollment college level math courses in the high school (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of math content and pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
Reports to: High School Principal
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
- Teach several advanced high school math courses, which could include any of the following: Geometry, Algebra 2, Financial Literacy, College Algebra, College Pre-Calculus & Trigonometry.
- Assess and evaluate students' progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Provide individualized instruction and support to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine instructional practices and curriculum.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in math education.
- Contribute to the school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, committees, and events.
