Job Description:

Job Summary: St. Johns High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality math instruction to students, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, and supporting students' academic growth and development.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid Arizona teaching certification in Secondary Education (or actively working toward obtaining one).
  • Current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required).
  • Math teaching experience (preferred).
  • Willing to teach dual-enrollment college level math courses in the high school (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of math content and pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.

 

Reports to: High School Principal

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
  • Teach several advanced high school math courses, which could include any of the following: Geometry, Algebra 2, Financial Literacy, College Algebra, College Pre-Calculus & Trigonometry.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress through formative and summative assessments.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine instructional practices and curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and any concerns.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in math education.
  • Contribute to the school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, committees, and events.
