Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Head High School Band Director

REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISES:  SHS and Elementary Band Students

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Director of beginning, intermediate, advanced, Elementary, and jazz bands.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.   Develops and promulgates a philosophy designed to establish a quality band program for Safford Schools.

2.   Approves a graded band curriculum for grades 6 through 12.

3.   Approves and supervises band activities for grades 6 through 12.

4.   Develops a long-range plan for music, instrument, and equipment purchases and repairs.

5.   Schedules performances for the various bands in a way that is consistent with quality educational thought.

6.   Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.
