Job Description:

All teachers are provided with individualized coaching/mentoring focused on improving their skills as a teacher. Teachers interact with a high degree of collaboration between staff of all content areas. On-site Staff (only) day care is available for those with little ones (0-4).

Essential Duties:
Become an integral part the Horizon Honors community, supporting the Horizon Honors Mission Statement, Goals and school philosophy
Design and plan effective lessons targeting identified individual student needs
Implement effective instruction for students on your caseload, using student data to drive decisions
Team teach with colleagues when needed and/or facilitate an understanding and response to student needs within the general education setting
Develop individualized education plans (IEP’s) and complete related paperwork for students and meetings
Collaborate with the grade level/content teams to understand, modify, and/or accommodate the curriculum when appropriate
Create a safe, positive learning environment for all students
Use effective problem solving skills with students, parents, and colleagues
Communicate professionally and effectively and in a timely manner with students and their parents
Work in a team environment with teachers and/or teacher assistants to support student academic, behavioral, and social growth
Participate in weekly meetings including staff meetings, coaching sessions, collaborative planning and ongoing professional growth
Assigned supervision duties during the school day and outside of school hours
Other duties as assigned by the principal

Arizona Teaching Certificate or other Highly Qualified criteria
Meet the requirements of Arizona’s Highly Qualified status
