Job Description:
Learning Foundation and Performing Arts Gilbert/Warner located in Gilbert, Arizona is interviewing for experienced bus drivers with CDL (with student transport) for the 2024-2025 school year to transport students in grades KG-12th.
Full-Time Employment available.
Must have a current Arizona CDL with student endorsement; current Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card; required testing certificates and licenses. Resume and three letters of professional reference are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obey all traffic laws.
- Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Maintain discipline when students are on the bus.
- Report undisciplined students to the proper authority.
- Keep assigned bus clean.
- Keep to the assigned schedule.
- Check the bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
- Notify the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
- Discharge students only at authorized stops.
- Exercise responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
- Transport only authorized students.
- Report all accidents and complete required reports.
- Enforce regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
- Report unprofessional conduct of staff who may be assigned to ride the bus.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director.
Additional Requirements:
- Drive school bus on scheduled route transporting students to and from school.
- Transport students on educational field trips and sporting events, local and out of town.
- Maintain order among the passengers, supervises their behavior and enforce district standards of conduct on buses.
- Conduct emergency evacuation drills twice yearly.
- Administer first-aid when necessary.
- Maintain interior and exterior of the bus clean and neat.
- Make minor seat repairs and remove graffiti.
- Service bus daily, includes fueling, checking, and adding oil, power steering fluid, coolant, windshield washer solvent, and fluid level in battery.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as specified in the Department of Transportation regulations.
- Check the bus constantly for mechanical defects and needed repairs in accordance with the district bus safety program and report defects or needed repairs on the daily inspection report.
- Keep a record of gas and oil usage, mileage, and the number of students transported as required.
- Attend monthly safety meetings.
- Perform a 15-minute bus check prior to driving the scheduled route.
- Must be able to react professionally for the safety of the students in the event of an emergency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Salary: (190-day contract includes occasional field trips).

Must have excellent English communication skills (additional knowledge of Spanish a plus)
