Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team full-time at a Title 1 K-8 charter school. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact with the support of a collaborative administrative team and an engaged community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and screenings and report results within designated time lines
- Provide speech and language services in accordance with the student’s written IEP to a caseload of approximately 50-60 students with mild to severe communication delays.
- Collect, document, and maintain speech/language/educational data to track progress of students.
- Oversee case management for students whose category of eligibility is Speech Language Impairment, including developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Effectively manage and respond to challenging student behaviors using de-escalation techniques, positive behavior supports and individualized intervention strategies to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Provide consultative services for school staff, parents, or community members by sharing and demonstrating knowledge and strategies. Work well with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
- Collaborates with other agencies, families, and school staff regarding the students’ need for AAC and providing training for school staff in implementation.
- Complies with all Medicaid requirements for school-based claiming including obtaining written Medicaid consent from parents and filing claims that meet Medicaid Standards (assistance with acquiring AHCCCS certification will be provided as needed).
Qualifications: (REQUIRED)
- Master’s degree or higher in Speech and Language Sciences.
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
- Speech-Language Pathologist Certificate from the Arizona Department of Education.
- Speech-Language Pathologist License from the Arizona Department of Health Services
- Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
Additional
Must be knowledgeable of district, state, and federal regulations and guidelines as well as knowledgeable of the principles and methodologies of effective remediation of speech and/or language disorders.
Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in working with computers and other types of technology, including IEP-Pro, AAC software, and Google Suite.
The SLP is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must regularly lift and or move up to 30 pounds.
