REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Academics and Administration
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
CATEGORY: Regular, Full-time, 12 months
PAY RANGE: Starting at $80,000 annually, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Facilitates the environment of the school to ensure the educational development of each student and the instructional goals of the staff, community and Governing Board.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
Experience, Education, & Licensure
- Master’s or more advanced degree from an accredited institution.
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership preferred.
- Valid Arizona teaching and administrative certificate.
- Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint card is required for all Charter Employees.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
Five or more years of classroom teaching experience in a K-12 setting. Three or more years of administrative experience in a district or charter school. Supervises professional and support staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Understands, supports, and implements the mission and vision of Arizona Ball Charter Schools.
- Responsible for implementing Arizona Ball Charter Schools policies at the school site level.
- Understands and implements the shared decision-making model that ensures full staff and parent participation.
- Attend meetings of the Governing Board as required. Submits a monthly report to the Governing Board.
- Responsible for state reporting relating to school safety and discipline incident data.
- Responsible for the reporting of student and staff accidents, the delivery of required services, and interface with liability insurance providers, as required.
- Supervises the preparation and updating of the faculty handbook and student handbook.
- Responsible for student behavior and application of disciplinary policies consistent with the philosophy, values, policies, and mission of the Ball Charter Schools and in accordance with due process and other laws and regulations.
- Partners with parents and staff to ensure a safe, orderly environment that encourages students to take responsibility for behavior.
- Responsible for procedures for the early identification of potentially disruptive students and the conditions that create or enhance unacceptable behavior (e.g. bullying), and implementation of programs to address such conditions. Responsible for notification of appropriate personnel and agencies when there is evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, child neglect, severe medical or social conditions, or potential suicide.
- Responsible for all operations at designated school location(s), including areas such as facilities and technology management, food services, Before and After Care program, safety and emergency planning, health office, volunteer program, transportation and field trips, extracurricular clubs, and activities, and fund raising.
- Responsible for managing or delegating the planning and supervision of school-wide activities, which may include extracurricular, after-school, or evening events.
- Fosters and maintains relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community by regularly attending school and community functions.
- Responsible for the selection, supervision, and evaluation of staff.
- In coordination with the Senior Director of Academics and Administration, responsible for curriculum, instruction, and assessment activities, including data analysis, planning and implementation of staff development activities and in- service programs, and active participation on site-based committees.
- In coordination with the Finance Manager, responsible for understanding and maintaining school finances, effectively managing the school budget.
- In coordination with the Director of Student Support Services, responsible for overseeing the delivery of special education services at the school level.
- Responsible for managing and/or delegating oversight of staff absences and management of substitute and/or temporary agency staffing.
- Markets the school as necessary to maintain attendance and represents Arizona Ball Charter Schools in a positive way in the community.
- Responsible for other operational duties, as needed, which may include the creation and maintenance of school calendars, website administration, routine parent and staff communication (newsletters, e-notices, marquee, etc.).
- Responsible for managing and/or delegating duties relating to student arrival and dismissal, recess, and lunch activities.
- Responsible for analyzing attendance patterns and investigations of excessive absences, as necessary.
- Responsible for ensuring personnel and student record-keeping procedures comply with state and federal law and organizational policy. Responsible for ensuring compliance with procedures for the integrity of all public and school records, the protection of confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties, and use of discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.

The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.
