Job Title: Curriculum Data/Instructional Coach

Job Type: Full-time, 12-month contract

Reports to: Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment

Staff to manage: N/A

Department: Instructional Leadership

Location: On Campus

Starting Salary: $53,500- $78,509

General Description:  

The Curriculum Data/Instructional Coach is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and assessment programs within the school. This role involves collaborating with teachers, administrators, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with academic standards, promoting instructional excellence, and facilitating data-informed decision-making to support student learning and achievement.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development:

    • Collaborate with department chairs, teachers, and instructional coaches to develop and revise curriculum materials, instructional resources, and learning objectives aligned with state and national standards.

    • Ensure coherence, consistency, and alignment across grade levels, courses, and subject areas, promoting interdisciplinary connections and integrated learning experiences.

  • Assessment Specialist:

    • Coordinate the development, administration, and analysis of formative and summative assessments to measure student progress, inform instruction, and evaluate program effectiveness.

    • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to ensure the use of valid and reliable assessment practices, including the selection and adaptation of assessment instruments and the interpretation of assessment data.

    • Facilitate the review and analysis of assessment data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement, and develop action plans to address student learning needs.

  • Professional Development:

    • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and collaborative learning communities to build teachers' capacity in designing effective curriculum units, implementing assessment strategies, and using data to inform instructional decision-making.

    • Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in curriculum and assessment, and disseminate this knowledge to teachers through ongoing professional learning opportunities.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources, including standardized assessments, classroom assessments, and student work samples, to assess student achievement and program effectiveness.

    • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing assessment results, trends, and progress toward instructional goals for school administrators, faculty, and other stakeholders.

    • Collaborate with school leadership teams to develop and monitor school improvement goals, action plans, and strategies based on data-driven decision-making

Logistics Planning for School-wide Assessments:

  • Plan and coordinate all logistics related to school-wide assessments, including coordinating classroom movement, scheduling, and bell schedule changes to accommodate testing requirements.

  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and support staff to develop a detailed assessment schedule that ensures all testing sessions are conducted efficiently and in accordance with established protocols.

  • Communicate assessment schedules, procedures, and expectations to teachers, students, and parents/guardians, providing clear guidance and support to ensure a smooth testing experience for all stakeholders.

  • Coordinate the allocation and distribution of testing materials, technology resources, and other logistical needs to support the administration of assessments in all testing locations.

  • Address logistical challenges or issues that arise during testing, such as scheduling conflicts, facility constraints, or technology failures, and implement contingency plans to minimize disruptions and maintain testing integrity.

  • Collaborate with district-level assessment coordinators and testing coordinators to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing assessment administration and security protocols.

  • Collect feedback from teachers, students, and staff regarding the logistics of school-wide assessments, and use this feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements in future assessment cycles.

  • Assist with classroom activities, motivation strategies, and instructional material development.

  • Guide teachers in using assessment tools and curriculum-aligned resources and technologies.

  • Support implementation and monitoring of intervention programs.

  • Help teachers integrate technology and internet resources into instruction.

  • Encourage and support professional growth through ongoing development opportunities.

  • Prepare and deliver effective presentations and communicate clearly in writing and speech.

  • Maintain a safe, orderly learning and working environment.

  • Interpret and apply rules, regulations, and policies as needed.

  • Identify and address curriculum and instructional issues through research-based strategies.

  • Maintain a collegial, confidential relationship with teachers and provide emotional support.

  • Recognize when to involve administrators in matters of safety or ethics.

  • Coordinate and administer all state assessments (ACT, ACT Aspire, AASA, AZSci).

  • Seek approval for unique activities or expenditures as needed.

  • Attend professional development workshops/conferences to stay current with innovative practices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Kneel, bend at the waist, and reach overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling moderately heavy objects.

  • Move throughout campus including climbing step ladders, stairs, bleachers and hallways, indoors and outdoors
