Job Description:
Position & Title: School Secretary
Hours & Days: Monday–Thursday, 32 hours with benefits. Daily hours 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.. 10 month position with seven paid holidays.
Salary: Hourly $15.00/ hour or more depending on experience. Healthcare included an over $10,000 benefit
SUMMARY:Performs a variety of office support and/or secretarial duties for the principal, such as composing and work processing a variety of standard documents, relaying and resolving routine telephone and/or walk-up inquiries, scheduling calendar items and meetings, processing forms, performing data entry, and establishing and maintaining records. Edits and proofreads documents to ensure accuracy. REPORTS TO: PrincipalDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and maintain positive rapport with students, employees, and community.
Provide an efficient office operation with organization/planning.
Ability to communicate district policies and procedures.
Maintain effective communication between school, district office administration, and staff related to operation of school.
Organize and complete office projects as assigned.
Orders, stocks, and distributes office supplies.
Sorts, screens, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail; drafts or prepares responses to routine inquiries; prepares photocopies and facsimiles, and operates a variety of office equipment.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
Records maintenance skills.
Word processing and/or data entry skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
Organizing and coordinating skills.
Receptionist skills.
Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments.
Skill in the use of operating basic office equipment.
Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
